I can’t stop singing this and I don’t even know why I started singing it in the first place.  I had forgotten how insanely gorgeous Michelle Pfeiffer is in this film.  It’s making me want my blonde hair back.

My 11 days off work starts tomorrow evening

Dear tomorrow,

Come quicker!

Best wishes

Rachel

I refuse, I refuse, I refuse. During the reign of the ballet pump I have become accustomed to being able to choose flat days and remain fashionable. During their demise I will remain faithful until the fashion police come and cart me away to pump prison.

I love her on Mad Men, but she’ll always be President Bartlett’s daughter to me.

Agreed. I will ALWAYS think of her as Zoey.  Could be time for a DVD marathon soon. West Wing and Mad Men.

I have always had kind of an intellectual crush on Matt Frei. I miss seeing him in front of the White House every night feeding me snippets of knowledge on American life and politics, and educating me with his deliciously authoritative English/German/American accent.  He really gets America in a way that most British people don’t (he’s technically German but I think of him as British).  He sees past the stereotypes and reports fairly without being patronising to either side.
They moved him from being the Washington correspondent to being the anchor of BBC World News on BBC America, which means I don’t get to watch him anymore. Apart from what I can get on youtube and his Washington Diary posts on the British BBC website, I’m sunk. I am reading his book - Only in America - at the moment and I’m loving it.  I actually find myself wishing my train journey to work was longer so I don’t have to put it down. Mwah, Mr. Frei. Big MWAH!
